Welcome to the 'about' page of this site. On here I hope to explain a little about myself and why I have this site.
For me there are two main functions for this website. Firstly, a space to share my photos and keep a record of how my ability with a camera has developed over time. Secondly, an online space, which I can use to keep friends, family and everybody else who stumbles up on this site up to date on what is going on in my life. You know, a stereotypical blog!
I have had this web-space for a considerable amount of time now, and for a long time I did not have a complete site here, just a number of un-finished blog sites or galleries. It took me a while but as you will be able to tell, I now have a complete site running here, with an integrated blog and photo gallery. This was my aim all along for this website, and I am really pleased with not only the result, but the increase in my abilities which has allowed me to create it in the first place!
So, More about me. My name is Jonny (as you would have guessed having got this far) and I am a 25 year old AV Technician from Darlington. I am an aspiring amateur photographer, currently I am quite new to the field, but I am learning as quickly as I can, and always finding out new tricks both with my camera and with the processing software. I have listed the gear I have at the moment in the right hand column of this page, however, I hope soon to be able to upgrade most of it, and constantly add to my collection.
Photography is an expensive but incredibly rewarding hobby, it takes a lot of patience, but at the end of the day when you get home and have some great shots to upload or print off there is a real reward for working at it. It's also great to be able to share my work and receive great comments and constructive criticism, which can only help me improve!
Although the main focus of the website is on my photography, I fully intend to sneak plenty of other content into here, so watch out especially for some of my other favourite things. I have been into Web-design for a number of years, with some former websites dating back until the year 2000, including some popular discussion forums and football websites.
I am also a huge fan of music, especially Rock and even more especially live music. I have seen some great bands, including Muse, Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party, but I don't intend to stop there. I was also lucky enough to attend Live 8, which was a fantastic day, and I will get around to posting up some photos from the day.
And Possibly the biggest passion in my life (after my lovely girlfriend of course)... Football. As far as football goes, I am a huge fan and season ticket holder of my home town side, Darlington. So although I've not had all that many good times in recent years, I am eternally hopeful that next year will be our year, although we have fallen into administration at the time of writing, so it's not looking great. Come on Darlo! Save the Quakers!
Many thanks for visiting!
